The 2017 Camp Hope Christmas Party has come and gone but what a Joyous event it was. We are truly blessed by this opportunity to serve our warriors at the PTSD Foundation. This event is a pleasure to put on and our staff and volunteers look forward to doing it every year.
Joined by family members, good friends, fellow patriots and of course the Camp Hope/PTSD Foundation staff, this year’s Christmas Party was a huge hit with the children, big & small.
Santa said he was very busy making last minute list decisions but still managed to stop by and visit with the kids. I think I saw him sneak a snack and a few cookies into his magic bag.
Very Special Camp Hope Christmas Thank you to our photographers; Mike Sowers and Jed Clark for the pictures for the families. Here is a link to all the pictures.
Terry’s Special Stockings; Each of our warriors received a custom-made Christmas stocking from Terry Sowers. These were filled with a stack of Christmas cards from local patriots, a special message from John Hornsby and a gift card courtesy of the awesome Gold Star Dads supporters.
In addition, each of the Warrior Wives in attendance also received a special bag filled with something special just for them. Merry Christmas Ladies, you deserve so much more.
Spending Christmas without family is not acceptable. That’s why we brought Christmas to the 65 warriors living here at Camp Hope. But this was a joint effort. Thank You to the many volunteers who baked, served and helped with setup and cleanup, your effort is much appreciated.
Thank you also to the Gold Star Dads and CMA Prayer Warriors who were on hand visiting, blessing and praying with the families. I heard that we even had a confession of faith and a new Brother in Christ, Hallelujah!
We want to thank our largest supporters Lakey Electric, the IEC Texas Gulf Coast Chapter and Highrise Electric and for their generous donation. These three companies have supported our organization from its first days here in Texas and we are honored to call you friends.
Also helping carry the load are the folks from Colwell Electric, and the guys and gals from Elliot Electric Supply, you guys rock. Thank you to our new partners from Brothers Lighting and Baker Hughes for their donations. Also, a Big Thanks to Connie from Acori Diamonds for her help organizing a special Toy Drive for this event. Lastly, I can’t forget our brothers and sisters at the VFW Porter and the Christian Motorcycle Association who faithfully supported Gold Star Dads and this year’s Camp Hope Christmas.
Special personal thank you to my friend John Hornsby of Hornsby Electric for everything he has done for Gold Star Dads and Camp Hope.
I’m sure I missed some people here because there are so many caring hearts in this community. Bless you all.
