Super Bowl Party 2017 at Camp Hope was a huge success! The party was memorable, the food was great and very plentiful and Gold Star Dads gave away a bunch of swag and cash.

Gold Star Dads & Camp Hope Rock the Super Bowl

Approximately 60 residents and guests packed the recreation room to watch what many sports experts predicted would be a blow out. Boy were they wrong. Although Tom Brady and the New England Patriots did eek out an overtime victory over the Atalanta Falcons 34 – 28 this turned out to be one of the better Super Bowls in recent memory.

Gold Star Dads Super Bowl Party Volunteers

Our great volunteer staff; Poppy & Steve Williams, Naomi Murrell, Missy Canterbury, Sherri Walker and Lynn Klasno.

First off I want to thank David Maulsby and the PTSD Foundation for affording us the opportunity to fellowship and serve these warriors, it is truly a privilege every time we do an event here. I want to thank our great volunteer staff; Poppy & Steve Williams, Naomi Murrell, Missy Canterbury, Sherri Walker and my lovely wife Lynn Klasno. I also want to thank our cooks & bakers; Bill & Anne Trapani, John Hornsby (awesome poppers) and Sherry Shypailo.

The Super Bowl Party 2017 Payouts

For the game pools each resident received one raffle ticket for the “Every Score” raffle and 2 squares on the Game Pool (paid each Quarter) and a “Score Prediction/Total points” card.

We had 15 score winners that each received a $20 Walmart Gift Card. Then we had (5) five quarter winners; 0-0 Jerald Boyd, 21-3 Craig Schrader, 28-9 Tim Housh and then Tim scored again for the 4th quarter 28-28, lucky guy for sure. The first overtime in Super Bowl history took us to 28-34 with Jesus Gambino winning that one.

The Final Score Prediction went to Robert Haigles who guest 34-28 RIGHT on the MONEY! and the Total Points winner was Kenny Thomas who was only one point off with a guess of 63. All of the game pool and score prediction winners received cool hats with flag patches and an awesome antique wall tin.

Other events held in 2016 at PTSD Foundation Camp Hope included; Secret Santa 2016 and Camp Hope Christmas Party.
